Tomorrow is 2021, it’s practically here! I’m excited to hopefully wipe COVID from my memory in the neat future and get back to life as we know it. Although it will be a while yet, the situation looks promising as people I know have already gotten the vaccine. We’re so close to the end, please continue to take precautions (I’m looking at you, my dozen Facebook friends who have had/attended weddings).
I spent the first half of the month at home getting my stuff together and then moving to… Seattle! Sort of. I borrowed my family’s Tahoe to move my big-ticket items, stopping in Los Angeles to clean out “my room” at my grandma’s house and picking up Grant in Oregon along the way to help me unload the truck and build some furniture. A full house tour to come soon! After moving some stuff in and spending the night, we went back to Grant’s house for a few days to exchange Christmas gifts and see each other one last time before we move in together.
I went back home to Tucson for Christmas and although I wasn’t feeling very Christmas-y, I always love giving (and getting) gifts and stuffing my face with food. I got camping stuff, a blanket, a jacket, GoPro accessories, Cards Against Humanity and other little things.
A few days after Christmas, I moved to Seattle for good. I’m mostly settled but I still feel like a guest in my own house. Grant will be here in a week or so and I have an interview today for a retail job so things are looking up! It was a big step but it feels right.
Happy New Year!
