Did this month go by super quickly for anyone else? Damn.

I’ve been enjoying the wonderful weather in Seattle with visits to Saint Edward State Park, a long walk around Green Lake and wondering through Discovery Park. I’ve also been getting active by joining the gym. I’ve been going about three times a week all month now so hopefully I keep it up. It’s awesome my gym has WiFi so I can just pop on some YouTube videos on the elliptical.

Saint Edward

Grant and I went to Newport, Oregon for a long weekend with his family for his dad’s memorial, who passed in August. It was awesome to meet his family, including his half-sister who he never met prior to this. Despite the circumstances, we had an amazing time and the family thought it was a beautiful way to celebrate Chris.

The highlight of my month was probably seeing my good friends Michelle and Jim and having Grant’s friend Brice visit. We did was drank, played games and had a fire in my backyard and it was the perfect way to get my mind off a lot of what has been happening. It’s great to actually see people now that I’m (as well as a lot of people I know) are fully vaccinated.

Speaking of family, I went home to Tucson, Arizona for a family emergency. It was only for a day and a half but again, despite the circumstances it was lovely to see everyone (especially my dog Bailey!) and celebrate my birthday early with a meal at Lindy’s and book shopping.

I turned 26 on the 28th and as with everyone else who’s had a birthday in lockdown (or two now like me), I didn’t get up to a whole lot. I got a lot of lovely cards, several special meals and yesterday, Grant and I hit a few indie bookstores. That’s all I could ask for, really!
