Life as we know it

For the 4th, we went to Ocean Shores with some of Grant’s coworkers as one of them has never seen the ocean! It was a lot more crowded than I expected with people driving right onto the sand, but it was very fun. Given that the sun didn’t set until 9:30PM, we didn’t stay for fireworks as we had to drive three hours back home.

Grant and I spent a week in Oahu, Hawai’i! It was such a nice and much-needed getaway. Highlights include spending the days with our friend Brice eating all the food, beach hopping, a pillbox hike, beautiful Byodo-In temple, some scuba diving and snorkeling, North Shore, Pearl Harbor and the famously beautiful Hanauma Bay.

Grant I both tested positive for COVID when we returned from our trip, so we isolated for a week (making me miss a Rise Against/Senses Fail concert, ugh) and per CDC guidelines returned to work with the proper precautions. I finally tested negative today so I can get back out there and enjoy the summer once this heat wave passes!

Spending 4th of July at the beach does sound fun even though it was crowded. Also, your week in Hawai’i sounds amazing! I’m sorry to hear you tested positive after the trip, but I’m glad you’re good now.
